As most of you are probably aware of, the annual San Diego Comic Con is held this weekend! Rose is set to attend for her third year in row. The SDCC weekend has become a big one here at Rose McIver Online and in the Rose community, and we can’t wait for it to start! Photos, videos, information… All to be expected – and in big batches 😉 While we eagerly await the convention, we decided to warm up by taking a look at the last two years’…
San Diego Comic-Con International is a multi-genre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California. It was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a group of San Diegans, which included Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry; later, it was called the “San Diego Comic Book Convention”. The name, as given on its website, is Comic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or “SDCC”. It is a four-day event (Thursday–Sunday) held during the summer at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. On the Wednesday evening prior to the official opening of the event, there is a preview for professionals, exhibitors, and select guests pre-registered for all four days.

When it was announced Rose would attend the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, the excitement was big. They were currently working on the first season of iZombie, and fans were looking forward to receive more information about the upcoming show. It was apparent that it already had many fans, even before the pilot episode had aired! Rose went to San Diego with her co-stars David Anders, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and Malcolm Goodwin, and the show creators Diane Ruggiero and Rob Thomas.
In their iZombie panel we learned a lot of fun facts, such as; Rose was the 100th actress to audition for the part! We also found out more about the show premise, the weekly format and how Rose found it easy to play a zomibe, but difficult to play a med student because of the vocabulary. The reviews were clear; this was a group of actors with a lot of charm, and they did amazingly at building up the hype around the show.
We were also given a galore of photos, making the weekend even better! Rose attended many different events during the convention, even a couple of portrait sessions. She wore different outfits to almost all of them – let’s take a look at her 2014 SDCC looks…
(In the 4th photo, Rose is wearing a Carlo Pazolini Handbag in black/white, a Sans Souci Blue & White stripe skirt and a AQ AQ Monica Halter Crop Top with Racer Front.)
It’s safe to say she looked stunning in all of them. But which of her 2014 looks were your favorite? Vote below…

Rose’s second San Diego Comic Con was held almost a month after the season finale of the first iZombie season in 2016. By then, iZombie had built up quite an impressive fanbase, and everyone was buzzing for the convention to kick off! And what an amazing start to the weekend they got… The cast attended the MTV Fandom Awards in San Diego the day before the convention, where they picked up the award “Best New Fandom”. (To the right: Photo of Rose dedicating the award to the fans. All photos of the cast accepting it can be found in our gallery here.)
And then the fun began! Unlike in 2014, Rose only attended the convention on one day (July 10). But oh did she keep busy! She managed to attend the iZombie panel and fan signing, appeared at SiriusXMs EW Radio Show, was in the Photo Booth and did a total of 3 different portrait session, visited the Nintendo Lounge on the TV Guide Magazine Yacht, and last but not least: the Warner Bros. Television’s Comic-Con 2015 Cocktail Media Mixer (with Leah Pipes from The Originals and Emily Bett Rickards from Arrow). And then there was all the interviews… (you can check out screen captures from pretty much all the interviews Rose made in our master post here)
One kind soul uploaded the entire iZombie panel to youtube for us, so that we who were sadly stuck on the other site of the world and couldn’t attend in person, could watch it! If you haven’t seen it before, make sure to check it out below… And if you have, maybe rewatching it as we wait for this year’s iZombie panel could be fun?
