Her parents: Her father is John George Whitfield “Mac” McIver (b. 1951), a photographer, and her mother is Ann “Annie” (née Coney) McIver., an artist. Her parents still reside in the house she grew up in Titirangi.
Her brother: Her brother Paul McIver (born 26 March 1986) is also an actor like Rose, as well as a musician. His first film appearance was in the television series The Ray Bradbury Theater. He has, like Rose, appeared in the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys films and television show as Hercules’ son, and the 1993 movie, The Tommyknockers. He and Rose both starred in “Hercules in the Maze of the Minotaur” and “Hercules in the Underworld” together. He began attending auditions at a young age, and when he was six he landed the role of “Saul Affmann” in an episode of The Ray Bradbury Theater.
He took a break from acting for ten years, graduating from Avondale College in 2003, and from Auckland University in 2007, with a degree in Music and Film. Recently, he appeared in the Visa Debit Card advertisement which aired across Australasia. He had played Jesse Collins in three episodes of the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, and since 2007 has been part of “The Owl and the Pussycat”, a classical guitar duo, with Michelle Birch.

Nephews and nieces: Philippa gave birth to her and Paul’s first child, a son, on December 13 in 2009. Their second child, a daughter, was born October 16 2011.

Fleur Saville: (born 14 July 1984, in Auckland) is, like Rose, a New Zealand television actress. She is best known for her roles in the television sitcoms Being Eve and The Tribe in which she became known to international audiences for her portrayal of Ruby. Saville previously acted on New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, playing the personal assistant Libby Jeffries for the CEO of Shortland Street Hospital. She was also Rose’s co-star in “Maddigan’s Quest” and in the television movie “Tangiwai”, and she and Rose have been living together in the United States for a long period of time. Rose regularly posts photos of the two together on her instagram profile, and they have been seen attending many events together through the years.
I am fortunate enough to live with one of my best friends, Fleur Saville, in a rambling old Hollywood home built in the 1930’s. Over the years it has had various tacky renovations but it has so much heart and personality and has housed some great dinner parties. – Rose in 2013, about the home she shared with Fleur.
