As you all know, Rose is an ambassador for Emirates (you can read all about her work for them at our page here). NZ Herald have done a cute little interview with her about her holiday experiences, which you can read below!

NZ Herald | Rose McIver is an ambassador for Emirates.

What was your greatest holiday?
Piha. Pretty much every summer growing up — often staying at the Peach family bach. So many wonderful memories.

And the worst? Well it was still a brilliant holiday, but my poor mum broke her shoulder visiting me in Canada last Christmas. That was a little rough.

If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing? Slip, slop, slapping. Eating a Nice Block. Having a swim in the surf, but only ever waist deep — watching out for those rips.

If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be? God, we are spoilt for choice back home but today I’ll say Hahei.

How about for a dream holiday internationally? I’m very keen to see Morocco. I love the food and the design I’ve seen from there, and would love to meet the people behind them.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done when travelling? I left my passport in the toilets in Dubai when I was 18. I was on the way to Europe. An incredible woman who was cleaning the bathroom saved the day and raced it to the gate just in time for me to board (not in time to prevent my first-time-solo-traveller panic attack).

Aisle seat or window seat? Window. More leaning options.

Complete this sentence: I can’t travel without … Mosquito repellent and sunscreen. I am a heavy doser and really dread the imminent studies coming out showing what all the chemicals do to us.

Rose has been hinting on her official twitter a couple of times lately that’s she been working on a new project: a musical feature film! Earlier this year, she reveled she was back home in New Zealand where she was working with director David Stubbs. Davis has been working on the project “Daffodils” since 2016, and we are so excited to share with you that our very own Rose has been cast as the lead character Rose!

Below you can read an old article/interview with Stubbs, where he discusses the project and how he thinks it’s going to be a big hit. You can read the full interview + watch a video where he talks about the film at the source here. Now that the filming has officially began, we’ll hopefully be treated to some on set photos and more information soon. We’ve all been hoping to hear more of Rose’s beautiful singing voice for so many years now, so I really can’t wait for this film! Stay tuned for any new information, we’ll keep you posted.

Daffodils, the musical play deep in the hearts of many Kiwis, could become the next smash-hit film from New Zealand. Kiwi director and producer David Stubbs, will fly to London in search of backers next month, to make his dream come true. Stubbs believes international film fans will be charmed by the real-life love story. “I think this is the big one. I believe it will resonate strongly with audiences.”

“This is a good sign because only a few films outside Europe are invited. I’m very confident.” As co-founder of Emmy Award-winning television and film production company KHF Media, Stubbs will pitch the script to the world’s top sales agents at the Production Finance Market (PFM). Sales agents are responsible for distributing films to international markets and are some of the most powerful people in the film industry. “The objective is to lock in overseas distribution deals and to do that you need to try and get as much overseas investment as possible.” Being invited to the PFM indicated Daffodils had potential to cross over to an international audience, he said. “I’m hopeful that Daffodils will be the next big film overseas.”

In the past it had been hard to pitch New Zealand films internationally, but now there was an appetite for world cinema and there was a large market in Europe for Kiwi stories. “I think there is a freshness about Daffodils in terms of our culture and music that will appeal. It has a strong classic storyline with the universal themes of love and regret and involves great Kiwi music. We are confident it will appeal to people overseas.” Stubbs likened the movie to the Oscar winning Irish film, Once. The New Zealand film industry was in a positive phase and there was a lot of buzz about Kiwi film-makers overseas, he said.

Productions such as Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Tickled had been great ambassadors for New Zealand. “Hunt for the Wilderpeople is an example of a Kiwi story that is resonating overseas and making money. It has opened the door a bit for me. It’s a good time for New Zealand film-makers.” More New Zealand audiences than ever were now watching Kiwi movies, which was a good sign, he said. “Film-makers are proving there is no cultural cringe like there used to be.”

Stubbs last movie Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses was a documentary about the 2007 exorcism death of a woman from Stubbs’ home suburb of Wainuiomata. “Belief was a very difficult film to make and a sad story that was quite gruelling for all of us. After that I decided the next project should be something that showed another side of New Zealand culture.” Daffodils was about the misunderstanding of unspoken things that put relationships at risk and explores why some things are not said and how Kiwi men act in relationships, he said. | Read full story at source

Hello fellow brainies! We finally have the first official season 4 content, as the episode stills from the first two episodes of the season have been released. The episodes are titled “Are You Ready for Some Zombies?” and “Blue Bloody“, and they both look hilarious judging by the stills! The season premiere is only 8 days away now, so we’ll hopefully have a lot of updates in the coming week. All the stills have been added to our gallery, and you can check out an article on the season + the official synopsis for the premiere below.

Episode 4×01: Are you Ready for Some Zombies? – While investigating the murder of a superfan of the Seattle Seahawks, Liv has a surprising vision. Major mentors young, homeless zombies, while Ravi still carries a torch for Peyton. Blaine deals with a threat looming from his past.

The CW has released new photos for “Blue Bloody”, the second episode of iZombie’s fourth season. While the episode’s plot is currently a mystery, it appears that Liv Moore (Rose McIver) will eat the brain of a “rich, haughty dowager” in the episode, and it looks like that will have some pretty weird results.

Aside from Liv being on “dowager brain”, iZombie’s newest venture will give plenty for fans to take in. At the end of last season, “D-Day” came to fruition, turning Seattle into the zombie capital of the United States. According to McIver, this will make some interesting parallels to real-world political issues.

“The show has hinged on [zombies] being a secret for so long that [going forward], how was that going to transpire? What happens season 4?” McIver told ComicBook.com. “It’s sort of an authoritarian dictatorship, which obviously she doesn’t respond to, but she also knows that zombies and humans co-existing is an incredible stretch. How do we find a way that makes everybody feel safe, that makes nobody feel marginalized? It’s so on-point politically right now, it’s something I’m really proud to be a part of that in a comedy, zombie, fun show, still kind of is making comment about how we treat other and how we respond to having to coexist and tolerate and understand each other’s opinions.”

“We’re going to pick up next season three months later, and the United States has walled off Seattle like it’s West Berlin,” showrunner Rob Thomas previously told ComicBook.com. “Chase is hanging on by a very thin thread; it’s like every day is the Cuban missile crisis. Brains are coming in, but they aren’t getting as many as they expected, and zombies are hungry. In fact, the opening sequence in season four is going to follow a brain from the moment a man dies somewhere in Texas to the moment it reaches the brain tube and is ingested by a Seattle zombie. In fact, it’s even going to start earlier than that. We’re going to see a commercial on TV; we want to get someone like Laura Linney making a commercial pleading for the people of the United States to sign their brain donor card.”

iZombie’s fourth season will debut on February 26th at 9/8c on The CW. “Blue Bloody” will air on March 5th.
